I read about not making resolutions in 3 different places yesterday. I’m not one for resolutions since I used to make lists of them in my teens. For me, rules are made to be broken. The changes we make happen throughout the year, just like yoga teacher Casey says here:

‘Let me be the first to say I love me the shit out of some goal setting but I particularly dislike this time year because of the abnormal amount of pressure to set goals, intentions, and resolutions. My clients work on their goals all year long so I encourage them to be extra gentle with themselves at this time of year and consider reflecting more so than doing. We do focus a bit on the “balance” part of their work-life balance to bring them closer to flow because as most of us know balance is often missed or maybe not as nurtured throughout the year. How can YOU find YOURSELF saying, “I don’t work I flow” on the regular?’

The two other posts I have seen are the following blogs:

Why not setting New Years resolutions might be a better idea

You’ll see no New Year’s resolutions here

They all carry a similar theme…that we are constantly evolving and shouldn’t look to beat ourselves up about doing or not doing things. After all to swear less, weigh less or whinge less have about as much measure as to do more yoga, more exercise or more clean eating.

So when faced with “what are your goals?” or “have you made any resolutions?” the answer is to continue on with your revolution.
